If you're going to measure climate impact of drones, how about this: every time a drone nails an Al Queda or Taliban type, they stop breathing. Presto, that much less CO2...:p

Taliban will be running Afghanistan by 2015..... What will happen to Bush' pipeline then?
Save USA a bit of money tho'. Maybe they can start paying off their debts?
Less CO2 ferrying all those troops around and less hummers.... Less cheap oil tho' hmmm.
At least the afghanis will finally get a decent hospital, seeing as how the Americans will be evacuating theirs. Finally get some decent medical.
Anyone watch the program on the Brit photographer that got blown to bits and later returned to take more pictures?
    Giles Duley. Sobering program.
Makes one wonder if the country was better under the Taliban.

Oh dear... I seem to have gotten lost. I was headed for a climate change thread, but wound up in just another America-bashing thread instead.:(

Hmmm, I knew I should've taken that left turn at Albuquerque!

Well if you Europeans would clean up your own messes, including those you leave behind in your former colonies, the US milliatary would not have to do it for you.

You can run your military on wind mills or cooking oil or something and save the US taxpayers a bundle.

The only "Europeans" to invade Afghanistan were the Russians. Didn't get them very far did it? Oh that's right, it was the USA backing.....
    Funny how friends become foes.
George bush had the Taliban 'round for a USA tour...... USA also was rather fond of Saddam Hussein too.
Lets see, the coalition consisted of " countries" like tonga, Azerbaijan and Palau.....
I know Ireland has a military.... I saw a jeep the other day, but since the poms and the economic meltdown, who the hell would want to invade Ireland?!
You guys get too worked up too easily.
Must be a guilty conscience..... Or a former colony inferiority complex or something?

On the positive side it looks like the American Decade of Destruction is coming to an end.

This may drive up American unemployment figure, but it will be good for the environment.

It would be nice to get rid of all military organizations.
Billions of non productive dollars could be used to fix all kind of things and we could escape to space.
I'd be out of a job, but I think I would be saluting the Chinese flag. Talk about a group who has no idea about pollution control.
In the 6o's I thought the world was growing up and becoming more responsible. Foolish me.
Time to leave this droning crowd.
Troy, I still think there is no real entertainment here.

Of course it's entertaining! The absurd always is.
Man (not only Americans) likes modernity and doesn't want to move backwards - even at the expense of the future / children/ humanity etc.
We like "civilisation" and all it has to offer. We like the image of having it all, because we are modern and deserve it. Why should we want less? Our modern goal is to move forward and have more. To realise this constant need to develop and have more, we need to sell more and keep creating to need for more.
What's the point in being happy with what you have?
I can't sell that guy anything! So don't be happy with what you have.... You need this, and that and this and that!
Small isn't good - poor people have small - buy this, it s good, it's big, it's better!
Doesn't matter if its good or bad, you'll look good because you have it.
All the old stuff is trash - throw it away and keep getting the latest, the best etc etc etc.
Your car is 5 years old? What a loser - get the latest model and look the part!
Doesn't matter that the bank owns it and not you - nobody will know that....
Have it all now and worry about it later.
Live for you. Live for now! Live it up.
All these ridiculous things make sense.... Live the lie.
