round one to Wardd on the car dealerships scandal
    now back to climate shift
looks like its more and more likely that average wave heights are getting larger and that storm intensity is getting greater.

on May 27, 2009, The Washington Examiner and Newsmax reported what I said. Of the 789 dealerships closed by the federal government, 788 had donated money, exclusively to Republican political causes, while contributing nothing to Democratic political causes. The only "Democratic" dealership on the list was found to have donated $7,700 to Hillary's campaign, and a bit over $2,000 to John Edwards.
Steve Rattner, the Car Czar, is the guy who put the list together, as head of the "automotive task force". He is married to a Maureen White, the former national finance chairman of the Democratic National Committee. As such, she has access to campaign donation records from everyone in the nation, Republican or Democrat. I don't believe that anyone can get these records unless they are voluntarily given.
On that list of dealerships being closed down, according the the two sources named above, in Arkansas , North Louisiana, and Southern Missouri, Bill Clinton's former White House Chief of Staff, Mack McClarty, owns a chain of dealerships, with a partner named Johnson, who is the founder of Black Entertainment Television and was a huge Obama supporter and financier. These guys own a half dozen Chrysler stores under the company title of RLJ-McClarty-Landers. None of their dealerships were ordered closed - not one- while all of their competing Chrysler/Dodge and Jeep dealership were! Eight dealerships located near the dealerships owned by McClarty and Johnson were ordered shut down, thus giving McClarty and Johnson a virtual monopoly on Chrysler sales in their zone. Fox News may not have the same information as the Washingto examiner but I notice that YOUR info came from Factcheck.org., A Democratic supporter.

It's called thinking, Hoyt. Be careful not to strain your brain if you aren't used to exercising it -- just like you start off slow with gym workouts, so you don't strain muscles you haven't been using.:D

Reality check here: what you're doing is the equivalent of saying that since only 10% of the workers who lost their jobs after Obama became President have been black, there's clearly a racist agenda behind the lay-offs. Completely ignoring the fact that only 10% of the workforce was black to begin with, of course....

If you turn the question around and look at the dealers who stayed open, you'll discover that they too were mostly Republicans. Gee, what a shocker: the average car dealer belongs to the party that's traditionally pro-business.

this thread is goofy...but every time I go to another to check it out, some guys are yelling at each other. Health care got voted to be repealed by the House today, so Google put a patriotic "let's get along" sign up... I need to explore and find a search engine that is not politically active.

Are you suggesting the sources I posted slandered? I see you people posting assumptions whereas I posted the source. Refute them - all I know is that with everything else going on since this idiot got in our Whitehouse, I believe anything is possible. I don't trust much of what a liberal says anymore... I had one over to my house for chess today and I had to force him to go back to the bathroom and wash his hands. As he was coming out from washing his hands, he was picking his nose. After I asked him to go wash his hands again, he started arguing that I was only thirteen games ahead instead of fourteen! I just don't understand what kind of upbringing makes liberals the way they are. It's not just politics - it's everything. They are savages.
I better go check and make sure all of the silver is still in the buffet...

Simply quoting sources doesn't automatically make them gospel. You have to look at where they gathered their information, what mitigating factors and relevant background information they included or ignored, and what their agenda was.

In other words, GIGO: garbage in, garbage out.

And by the way, trying to dismiss liberals as liars and nose-pickers, based on the actions of one person you claim to be dealing with. is clearly garbage -- coming and going.

I thought it was humorous, actually. I know you're not all like that. It just seems society, as a whole...hat on sideways, noserings, wanting others to pay their way... Where is the pride anymore? Used to be, we dressed up to take a flight. Now we dress in sweats so it's easier to get felt up by TSA.
NOW, I have to go the store for another can of Lysol. ****! Had a bear in my entry! He's supposed to be napping! Last night I talked with two snowy owls for almost an hour - good times. The bunnies and cats better watch out! - More bunnies than in the thirty years since I've been up here so I should be gearing up for lynx. I heard the're getting $400 (a friend got three yesterday). It would be hard in the bush but 20 of those and you've had a nice winter away from everything human.

The last wild animal I talked to regularly was a kit fox a few years ago. For several months, he came trucking past the control room about 2:00 in the morning. Any time I had the chance, I'd step out the door and wait for him to show up. When I started talking he'd plant his bottom, prick up his ears, and politely wait until I was done.

He understood finality: when I told him 'goodnight and have fun,' he'd stand up, stretch and go on about his business.

Another one showed up a couple of times last year. I spotted him in the edge of my headlights when I was headed for the oil tanks, and stuck my head out the window to say "hi." Surprisingly enough, he trotted along behind the truck until I stopped, and hung around while I took the reads and talked to him. Then he trotted along with me back to the control room, let me say good night, and went on about his business.

He did the same thing the next night, but I never saw him again after that.

Kit foxes are known for being curious about people. It isn't unusual to see one setting at the edge of the light when you have a campfire going in the desert, just watching. It's a habit that came close to wiping them out in the late 1800's in Arizona, when a lot of people tended to figure that "if there's somehin' out there, it needs killin'."

You guys should start a political thread..... what happened to the climate change thingy?
CO2 may be good for growing crops/food but heat isn't - beyond a point, plants cant take it and start to produce co2 instead of oxygen! vicious circle - more heat - more co2.....
