Yes it's rare for to gst that slow. We pick our days unless in a comp. Ours used to crack 40knots but with the new diesel props it's 38.5 knots

 

So what engine have you got in that ? 250 hp petrol ?

 

Yes its a 2007 volvo penta 4.3 v6 petrol. Duo prop.

 

OK. That puts out 250 hp ? Surely you could cruise at 25 knots with that ?

 

Yer bit of confusion on Hp between model of gxi of 225hp or 250. But it will cruise 3300rpm at 26knots. I was more talking about ride comfort in swell and chop.

 

Those hulls ride well enough, like all the old Hunt hulls, but you pay with a little tenderness at rest. Those hulls were of course the original basis of the Haines Hunter boats, but I reckon he improved on them a little, with some of his own later designs, under that brand.

 

the sterndrives give them good stability at rest. outboard versions maybe tender .

 

True, better stability, but then you are having a higher planing speed, so don't back off as well. All compromises.

 

i agree but with trim tabs i could cruise on the plane at 11 knots. the old volvo 170 /b30 was very light for an inboard though.

I have the same hull.
I see you have a windlass type anchor winch. Didi you have any problems with the shallow anchor well?

 

I have the same hull too and I love the boat for all the reasons quoted.
Mine has a V8 and does 36 knots. Awesome boat.
