The bow of the starboard float was damaged when a mooring line broke last year and when repairing I decided to change the form of the ama bow's.
Also the outboard mounts needed beefing up.
Back in the water last friday!:)

    Pictures tell the story.

    What a beautiful boat.

I have the prototype of the Newick "Outrigger 26" (originally called the "Somersault". I have plans to restore her someday. Where in the Netherlands are you? I get there each March on Business.

I would like to see a modern Newick design of about 20-21', Like the "T-Gull 23", trailerable with a "swing wing" for easy launching, able to sleep 2 under cover but still have a good turn of speed. Pretty difficult requirements for the size.

Classic Newick beauty, Hielan, you will definitely enjoy your sailing ... but get your mast rotation right for even more speed and fun. Cheers.

Thanks a lot, Dick Newick and the honorable guy who build the boat sure did an outstanding job and made a beautiful creation.

Hope to sail the boat within weeks and update here.

Beautiful day. Wind 0-3 beaufort. Spend nearly 12 hours on the water sailing:D:D:D:D
Self tacking jib and main are so easy! Mast rotation with sail no problem.
In really light upwind the boat needs probably a code zero or similar to really keep her going.
A lot of things still to sort out.
I hardly noticed the time go by and had a really nice day getting hooked.
Apart from the "gentlemen" who ran into the starboard float and cracked the hull over 1.5 meter. I sailing, hoisting main on the far right of the buoys, he on engine not keeping a proper watch.... I was really lucky to avoid a frontal.
Overall very happy and satisfied and am afraid that I can get used to this!

    Cheers,

Pictures are bit; what can I say. I hope to provide some better ones in the near future
