I have just aquired a 14ft family speed boat,it can be lifted off the rollers bow and stern with a little effort.
    I have refurbed a 1964 18hp Evinrude fastwin.
Anyone got any idea what speed it will be capable of?
I don't know the make of the boat, but it has a nice shaped hull and has a 5ft beam, and takes a 16" leg outboard.

Depends on how much weight you pile in I'd say, but it should hit a dizzying 20 mph !

    Hello again Mr E,
20mph will do me.There will only be two of us on the boat and a bit of fishing
    gear.The engine is a pull start so there won't even be a battery,just a couple of petrol tanks.(and a 5hp spare engine)
With having to trailer the boat I will be keeping the weight to a minimum that I carry in it.
