Bird Dog Boat Design, Is a tunnel necessary?

    Good morning,

    I'm not certain my first response was delivered.

    This is my design utilizing the existing Florida Bird Dog vessel as the foundation. I operate an oyster farm on the Little Egg Bay, Ocean County N.J.

    What is the intended use of the boat? The shape is very unusual. If you refer to the Bird Dog Boats, their shape is very different.

    Good morning, The boat will be used to work an oyster lease, the Bird Dog design would work well, I'm using the concept as a starting block.

    Just got back from down south but there's a ton of boats that look roughly like that used for seine jitneys. I'll take pics and post them on my next trip south. All have varying degrees of tunnels and outboard hoists. Range from 25 to 50 feet.
