John Lindahl and designer Richard Roake (Retired Geek) have built and respectively updated the design. Matt Struble has done some of the test sails on the platform and it is currently sailing at Spring Fever regatta on Lake Hartwell, GA with either Ian or Matt on the helm. John or retired geek can update and explain the changes. You can see a difference in the hull shape imediately. I believe the main beam is further back as well and the hull volume is less then the previous design. the hulls are built using a strip plank method with carbon inner and outer skins. The LR3 won the Spring fever regatta with matt struble on the helm. randy Smyth on his boat came in second. he did not sail two of the races so that might have been one of the reasons that Matt won five of eight races. The reports say that Matt was faster to windward and randy faster on leeward.
