    Hello All,

Obviously I am new to the forum. I am looking to purchase some sailboat plans that include DXF or autocad files. I program and operate cnc routers. I am trying to find 11 - 14 ft sailboat (sloop or Cat) plans w/ cad files for cutting. If you have any links or connections please let me know.

    Thanks

    Gary

Can't help on that, BUT I'm learning SolidWorks and

I've been thinking it might be fairly easy to "reverse blueprint" to computer controlled routers for frames and lofting from the outside hull shapes, and interior dimensions of classic boats using "top down" design.

However, I don't think any of those programs have any sort of input feature for scanning in organic shapes from pictures or other data.

Shaping and imaging is pretty easy, the hard part i think would be building the structure to hold that shape. I guess you could read up on it but not being a boat builder I don't kow the first thing about laying out a structure.
