Navaldesigner (www.navaldesigner.com) er det beste vi har funnet i "lavpris-segmentet". Rhino3D er rimelig og bra for generell modellering med enkel hydrostatikk mm.

    Ragnar,

Your saying: "ND is one of the best in the low priced segment. Rhino3D can also be used for general modeling and some hydrostatic calculations"????????

Yes, maybe rude to change to Norwegian...
Seems like yiu understand quite well :)

I think ND is more "up to date" than Prolines. Theese are thetwo low cost programs I have tried recently.
Rhino's hydrostatic is really basic so now I am trying out RhinoMarine.

I'm Dutch, language from the same group. Just as Danish, Swedish, German. By speaking out the words I can make sence of what you write.

Wat ik nu schrijf kun jij ook wel lezen, denk ik.

What you wrote I could also read well, I think?

I remeber one Icelandic, after learning Danish in school, studying in Norway and Germany he moved to Holland and spoke Dutch in a few weeks. "Just another european dialect" he said.

btw, I have an old book "ZailZport" or simmilar in Dutch, many interesting old designs.

    You got it!

Is the book called "De Zeilsport" by J. Loeff. Hold on to it, it's a real classic here in Holland. I'm still looking for a copy.

I would recommend Rhino from McNeel you can get a student package combination of Rhino and the Proteus product Rhino marine very cheaply. The stability calcs free to trim, I have checked with some complex designs. If you get realy advaced though you will need a package that can account for free surfaces in tanks, although you can get around this by segmenting the tanks and adding the mass in your weight calcs.
