Naval Architecture design software

Hey guys,

Do you think there is any need for more/ other NA related software?

What are you missing in the software you use currently?

Would you try other software and switch from the current software if the other one fits better?

Sooner or later, will exist NA softwares with an AI interface: you will write your wishes in first few sentences, then a dialogue with the AI, and after few minutes you will receive a complete of set of plans, characteristics, cost, performance,… ready for a decision to go build.

The role of the NA will then becomes the one of an adviser for the customer/the shipyard to choose between the various AI proposals.

 

Not sure how the future of AI and NA will look but I expect much stuff to happen in that field. I'm also unsure if I'd be glad or sad about that, my opinion is splitted.

Yes, it is possible. First they should start with constraint based AI. The computer can do thousands of calculations in a matter of seconds based on the rules outlined in the Principles of Naval Architecture Design.
