    6.5m Glass Cat Design Issues
    Hi everyone
I have just registered with this forum and would like to congratulate everyone for the good work.
Im a previous boat owner and since then became fascinated with them. I sketched roughly a small 6.5m cat and would like some opinions from the experienced boat designers and users on the cockpit visibility and other issues you might find appropriate to highlight.
I find that space, utility and safety in boats is the most important aspect of using a boat.
I designed this cat for fishing but still wanted a boat that i could take out friends and girlfriend along. So i chose a flat front deck so if anyone wanted to sunbathe they could, and if i wanted to carry extra load also.
I would also like an opinion on the square shape of both hulls, and how they might affect loading it on a trailer, because of the right angles of the hulls it might be difficult risking the wheels touching the hull therefore having to have a realy wide trailer or raised boat, making it difficult to load it to the trailer.
The reason for these shapes is for the space it provides for storage, water tanks, etc.
It will be in fiberglass and some composite structural reinforcements to keep the weight down.

    Any comments are appreciated

Well, im sorry for that but i had lost the sketch files.
these are th scetches and some work i did on freeship.
i still dont know how to activate any cat choices in freeship if there are some.
and i also dont know how to make the templates for any models made with this software, so if anyone can give me some pointers would be truly apreciated.
In the freeship model i designed one hull only and then plan to make to just the same and then put it together. Any info on the hidrdinamics is welcome.

    kind regards

    Massivo

Sorry the boat will not open in my freeship 2.6 as it seems to be drawn in delftship. I do prefer using 2.6 as I do have some issues there that I want to use. But the design looks really good! Looked at your pdf files.
I will download the delftship then I will return.

thanks for the kind words Nukisen
I did draw it in freeship but it sees to be a different version.
Im strugling with making the templates so i can print them, ive managed to make the transversal divisions on the model but some how there are some lines that are not alined with the shape. Im still trying to learn more about this software since it was my first time using any software of this kind.

    Freeship multihull!!

I did one like this once. Maybe you will figure out how you are able to do.
Now download the freeship 2.6 and open this one. Then you are able to figure it out how to do it.

    I HOPE!
    :p

you are right about opening these files, i also couldnt open it and tried with to send it to freeship but couldnt find the option.
Its realy a pity not to be able to export in other formats.
Ive even tried to export to Blender and Polycad but cant do much about it, im just an amateur in these programs.
Anyone with some more info on this is welcome
