This quote has given me some thought. Do you think that it should have been damaged?

I would have thought the opposite and would have been disgusted had a sea boat suffered any damage from just dragging it across some grass.

Do not forget that was the only way (planned and for-seen) to get the build from within the concrete floored shed, and up about 2-3ft in about a boat-length then turning... There was a fellow there observing this activity and he said he would not be game to allow something like that for his boat (heavier, of marine plywood construction with grp on both sides by hand layup).... and I know not of any other designs that could be pulled around on dry land....?

hate to admit it but we used to get away with murder on green grass
stuff is like a grease and you can slide all kinds of hulls with little and usually no damage.
Im guilty of sliding wood hulls over grass
    never concrete
    no way
but grass is no big deal
we would roller something out of the shop and up on the lawn regularly and if it hit the lawn we were ok with it as long as we hadnt painted yet
otherwise you would get a really dumb looking green stripe on the hull
then get it up on blocks and braces to be painted

I dont remember ever having damaged a hull by it scraping on grass
as I said stuff is like grease

I can't picture dragging anything across concrete though
big non expanded neoprene covered rollers (with carpet) on em are perfect for rollers over concrete
otherwise you get a black streak
looks a lot like the green streak :)

should I admit that we also used to rock a hull to roll it over sometimes
    maybe not

can I write an anonymous note on this thing

so mas Im guessing you put some skids down for the concrete

The scrap mdf - the stuff you seemed to think we were using to build the boat - with laundry detergent worked fine, (the "game" worked for a while?) but the bottom of the boat is also toughened by a secret mix which includes 10kg of very fine pure copper powder and other stuff....

I have been in hospital for a while - recovering from an infected pancreas - which doubled me up in agony for a while - a near death type experience - with cause at this point in time unknown - slow recovery means no booze and keeping my distance from any new/other irritants (fibre-glass dust & resins etc... Bugger...)

I understand the port hull inside & bulkheads should be getting ready to do the turnover stage and put the secret stuff on its bum....

that DR and the Wife sound like irritants to me
what you need is a night on the town and a stiff drink
teach that pancreas who's boss is what you need
    just a thought

    oh
    can I have the boat

( never hurts to ask )

    best wishes

Well now, if one's own intestines begin to attack you then you better start thinking your ways over...

I'm with Bossie on this one, nothing like a couple of wild ones to take the rest of the life out of you... :D

    Good thought there.

Hi Fanie, The question mark was in case you were teasing...:D:D:D I am a little tender (having been on a liquid diet of normal saline via cannula for 3 days and little food for the previous 3 days)

In hospital I had been assiduously avoiding the thrombosis issue, and those ghastly stockings and blood thinning injections, by pushing my drip bag "hatstand" around the ward for 4 hours or more each day and desperately trying to remember the "cleaner" boat jokes to cheer up the other patients in the surgical ward... I even presented a 2 hour seminar on how to buy and sell gold bullion, and also a "round table discourse on philosophy" in another 2 hour session... Oh and there may be some new participants on boatdesign.net for the jokes, economic discourse, drivel - no other boaties in the wards....

I may head up to the shed to see how far the build has progressed and post an update later today, else tomorrow evening...

What me - tantrum? - not likely - too much a waste of effort/energy, If the words had a hurting impact I am sorry:D:D:D please accept a few smilies to relieve your stress:D:D:D

    Teasing... me ? Nahhh

That whole long description sounds like an excuse to me. Take the friggin drip with you to the shed, hang it on the mast or around your neck or something  Save Manie getting you the crew and drag the nurses out there with you.

Anyway, any excuse will work though :D

I can handle most kind of crap, but being sick is not one of them. Probably a good thing men cannot give birth, it will be much more painfull... :D

Hope you snap out of it soon, there's a boat to be built if you haven't noticed ;)

Ive seen a few nurses made we want to drop and have breathing problems

    even worked once or twice
course that was on the same one
she eventually developed a callas attitude towards my pain
which was mostly her being a pain in my but

    ah memories
    cheers

Are you referring to those male nurses :D

So one fell for it. Big deal...
Bloody hell you must be extremely desperate to pull a stunt like that... why don't you just walk up to them and ask them ?

Personally I prefer the willing ones that want to, not the one that does it out of pity :D

    You're doing it wrong :D
