The Marketplace Forums can be useful for members who know one another well from forum discussions and offline communications and wish to post boatbuilding tools, drafting tools, molds and tooling, and other professional equipment for sale or trade. However, caution and good judgement should always be used. Especially when considering any business with anyone not already well known to you and trusted, due diligence must be used to confirm details and identity and be sure the transaction is safe before any money or property changes hands. Always use good judgement and perform due dilligence and follow these guidelines.

It costs many times more than a transponder on a small aircraft. WHY?

Thought the idea would be a neat way to track what is around and going which way how fast - just the receiver - not the transponder - the link had info on the "B class"

Mas this is frikken outa this world :D

holy **** you couldnt wish for more
maybe this global economic meltdown will play in your favour - i am pretty sure that your build will be one of the very few that will be going on and will that will definately give the top designers and builders more "time" to spend with the "little guy"

hopefully you will also score better prices for materials?

what will the build be - epoxy and ply ?
or are you going for glass and polyester?

please set yourself up for MANY MANY photos as we here on the arse end of the planet will dearly love to see how you do it - as we could never afford that luxury of having a designer oversee a "home build"

    go well :D

    masalai,

A free wordpress.com blog would be the perfect thing for documenting your project. As you progress, this thread would become very big and difficult to manage and navigate,

You can store up to 3GB of photos for free on wordpress (that's thousands of photos) and if you exceeded that you could start putting photos on flickr.com (which is also free).

You may have already seen our blog, which I have recently moved over to wordpress.com: The Scrumble Project

Readers would be able to comment on each entry on your wordpress blog, so you wouldn't lose the interaction that occurs here.

As I'd dearly like to see more people blogging about their boat building project, I'm more than happy to give tips and advice on the subject.

Oh Im sure you will get a far better welcome than a grumpy ole Yorkshire man can give you.

They have to notice you first and as this is basically in the middle of the night in US, the ******* are all asleep.

Well maybe a few are just getting up and having those silly little pancakes with that disgusting sauce that they put on them.

Actually I wonder where Mas is as your contribution was headed his way.

(shouting) Mas Mas theres someone here to see you.

He will be along shortly--he lives in Australia you know!! probably putting fires out.

Judy, Thank you for your interest, and I hope your Bob Oram 44C gets to cruise the Queensland coast and we can swap stories eventually.... I have developed some familiarity and "family" here, and will remain in this locale to document my build progress.... As you can see "protection" is fairly well established :D:D:D:D.

The build site is arranged and the ATL order is being cut, Sam will be leading the build team - I am the site gopher... You are welcome to put a link to your project as there are quite a few readers interested in Bob Oram designs (I have a link to Bob's page for the 30'C in my signature at the bottom of each post).

Frosty, Thanks for the guard duty - They are another Bob Oram 44C build project and OK folk :D:D:D:D:D - - - I was out all day Saturday (voting for the Queensland elections to return our (Labor) SOCIALIST (in name) government and ensure Mr cyborg of the LNP did not interrupt the party, Then for a drive up to Melany for a leisurely lunch and imbibing - bloody weird - BMW and other "expensive" cars parked all around and *the well dressed window shopping* and inside the pub, conviviality with many bearded & tattooed bikies (sans colours).... - The meal was very nice too....

Good luck with your project. I will be watching this thread with great interest. Not many Oram builders publicise their progress, so I am keen to see yours. Am I right in assuming your boat will replacing the space left by Bryan and Rowena's boat? Lucky you, having Sam.

Yeah, last nights results restored my faith in you mob!

Yes Judy, Just hope our investments work out as planned to ensure everything runs as per plan and we can utilise the availability of Sam and his buddy.... Swiss Chris has finished and departed I think, - - and Bryans boat is getting close - - - Neil B is now building his "last" for himself another 44C so lots of action in this neck of the woods....

You will need to update your link to the 39C to http://boboramdesign.wordpress.com/39-c/ as as the old site will disappear in a week's time. I know this because I manage Bob's website.
