1. The Marketplace Forums can be useful for members who know one another well from forum discussions and offline communications and wish to post boatbuilding tools, drafting tools, molds and tooling, and other professional equipment for sale or trade. However, caution and good judgement should always be used. Especially when considering any business with anyone not already well known to you and trusted, due diligence must be used to confirm details and identity and be sure the transaction is safe before any money or property changes hands. Always use good judgement and perform due dilligence and follow these guidelines.

Sorry Mod, I didn't really expect a reply. I was merely complaining because I wanted to give Michael points again. If I don't understand the rep points system by now I never will, but thanks for going to the trouble.

The software is simplistic in this regard and simply checks: Has UserA left feedback for another of UserB's posts within the last 25 post-feedback-comments they submitted? If so you can always reply on the forum itself though when a post is especially useful or helpful to you too. In any case, sorry again for the inconvenience you encountered.

No inconvenience whatsoever, thank you for being so polite.
Can we change the software for "in my case" ?

    Just kidding.

    Hi Fanie,
I think with your dry sense of humour, you would find ready acceptance in Australia. Help manie to sail his toy boat across the empty fish pond (The supertrawler on its way to Australia), - and after being finally rejected has really had a go at emptying the Indian Ocean of all fish to feed the starving Europeans...

    Hi Moggy,
Please include me in that list of "lay folk" as I will probably forget the concise description and analysis you have presented... I feel that a simple "black swan" event will trigger the collapse especially if a goodly percentage of the traders are getting heavy bouts of dyspepsia of the bowls and flatulence between the ears...

dont worry I still have the dream of doing that oneday ;)
only problem is NO Work and NO Money at the moment.
The economy here is not good, and my "industry" which is connectivity is very quiet, hopefully things will pick up later in the year.

My humor is so dry because there is no water here and no money to travel to water.

What Manie isn't telling is that we are on the verge of a disaster here that will most probably convert into a war. The Chinese army and arms has moved into SA from Zimbabwe and the UN has moved it's vehicles in to supervise the fiasco to follow. They are anticipating the death of the old bomb planting terrorist killer who has sadly become the world's icon. In history disarmament (whites here in SA) has been followed by genocide.

    Any time now.

Sorry to read this if it's really likely.

    Best of luck to you.

    Mas,

Even the geeks that write these things are comparatively "lay", they/we have never been here before. They don't seem appreciate the power that they are playing with, or so say the seemingly sane that I come across. I was talking to a mate who is a recently retired insurance veteran, it scares the poop out of him, he exited "stage right" before he had to deal with it all. If you appreciate the fact that these things are dangerous it would appear that you are ahead of most of the crowd that play with them. Then again that is the opinion of a lay person, I will be wiser in hind sight, we all will be.

What is that Chinese insult? "May you live in interesting times!"... I fear we do, and I fear they know it and are better chess players. I watch with interest, the second half of my life will not be boring! :D

Dankie ALex, maar ons bly net hier, dis ons land wat gesteel is en ons sal hom terugkry. In the mean time making ends meet is a challange. I saw Masalai's thread was up in my search and thought he progressed some with a new boat or the next one, but noooo, the man is all talk :D

One cannot simply stop at one boat, there's got to be more. Almost like wiemen, you know... ;)

    Hi Fanie,
The quote is incorrect... So Where is your FIRST boat - I have 2, "CNO" and a rubberduckie (tender)... Manie got it correct, best to have one small one that can be used, and when not being used, stored at home...

I'm onto my seventh or eighth boat already (I started young)... and I've planned the next two already. The one I made from triyaks is on a trailer here just in case a flood hits us like Noah can testify - I'm not taking any chances. There WILL be land somewhere.

Nah, one every 50 years doesn't count as commercial.
