    Well friend,
I have built my boat and now, whilst cruising, realise Global Financial issues impact heavily on when and where and how often I can cruise. . I live on my boat... Boats cost money to make and run - or are you still a dreamer and not discovered that fact yet... Do enjoy your pleasant thoughts whilst you can - Harsh reality is sometimes not very kind...

In this world, where oft-times we aspire to a freedom to speak our mind. - - Others who do not share my view are welcome to place me on "their personal ignore list", whilst some others may appreciate what I am attempting to share...

    Please enjoy your cruising life...

If you cared, (somehow I doubt such), you may be aware that I have also interrupted my cruise, as a dear friend known as Silver Raven and a far more important and significant contributor in boating and design circles than I imagine you will achieve or aspire, has been struck blind and is receiving treatment for cancer - - He has undergone intensive treatment since September 2012 and was not expected to live to Christmas, (we shared an early Christmas), and is now, through the efforts of excellent medical staff at Cairns Base Hospital with 'Chemo Therapy', and on his part, a very strong determination and extremely positive attitude and outlook, he is preparing to undergo daily radiation therapy for the next 3 weeks with an expectation of a significant improvement in his life expectancy...

I am hoping he will regain his sight, so we may be able to continue our planned passage from Cairns to Milne Bay in Papua New Guinea. That is how yachties look after each other...

Have a look at Gropers build, he is another person of high calibre in building and design circles.

Best wishes for your friend Silver Raven's health and recovery. On that note, let's please try and keep the forums here polite to one another and try and exercise some care not to insult other members, nationalities, etc. please. Thanks.

The situation economically is still somewhat unpleasant, A look through the links in "Ed Steer's Gold & Silver Daily" offering from Casey Research has all the guff... Some strange comparative points emerged . . . . . . . . . . .
The Cypriot banking system was 7 times more than its GDP.
Luxembourg's banking system is 22 times its GDP :?:

The Cypriot deposit flight on the day before the initial "rescue" package (16 March 2013) signed into effect removed some 40% of all savings, through British and Russian branches of the Cypriot banks.
The Cypriot trick is NOT A BAILOUT - The Dicktat will near double the island's debt ratio to 120% of GDP - Who is 'screwing' whom :?:
The difficulties for the 'southern countries' in the EURO stable are NOT over...

In China there are reports expressing concern for debt therein to be between 150% and 200% of GDP - From what I have been reading it seems sheeted firmly home to the derivative derived contagion...

May Easter be quiet and peaceful...

Convoluted - yes - but how else to easily protect ones database whilst allowing limited access? - Just the video? http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2013-03-13/santellis-primer-miracle-earnings-expectations Do take the time to read the report from vulpesinvest as the detail shows part of the "devil" On matters USA, John Williams statistical analysis http://www.shadowstats.com/ is far more appropriate as he uses pre "Clinton era" fudging and that shows 22% and above as the unemployment level in USA :!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seBWlOMt2Tk Listen carefully to what is said "unavoidable and likely in 2014" :?:

Thanks for an interesting thread, fellow Aussie!

Wishing your friend a speedy recovery and wish I could express my sorrow without being trite. Also, the cut/burn/poison treatment of cancer is likely worse than useless, so I suggest looking into it in depth, as well as boosting his immune system and most importantly, his fighting morale.

The economic disaster info is also much appreciated, you'll keep me up beyond my beddie-bye time. I'm guessing you've got some ideas of Plan B thu Plan Z, considering you are globally mobile with considerable storage space, and are based in the Greatest Country on Earth. Wishing you and yours: Cheers, fair winds, safe harbour, and good sleeping in a snug berth!

Thanks micah, blank cheque is "in the mail" . . . :D

Plan A to Q all entail going to some remote spot in Melanesia growing coconuts (for oil to run 'diesel' engines) making charcoal (bio-char) to improve & condition of the soils that mostly have become quite degraded and leached due to "slash and burn farming" - so I will effectively make my own fertiliser, fuel and food and to make a bush materials home that will withstand a cyclone will take about 2 days with 10 willing friends from the village where I will call home.

I may not have polished marble bench-tops in the kitchen but I will have electricity, fuel, food, reliable shelter and most simple mod-cons and a healthy lifestyle... Plans R to Z are as yet not defined...

Silver Ravens cancer is below his lungs and close to the major arteries there. It is about the size of ones hand held fingers down and relaxed, (a bloody large tumour), so assessed as inoperable. His team are highly skilled and held in high regard in the medical profession. I noticed that a patient with a positive attitude gets more attention and consideration, and Silver demands to know what and where and also volunteers for any relevant 'guinea pig" research and always expresses great appreciation for the interest in his case and the help extended...

(Several patients seemed to accept their end and seemed lost and ready to give up, they were given good palliative and pain free care and soon died. - - The "fighters" who were determined to recover mostly did so... A point I made note of for when and if my time is to be tested...)

http://www.dailyreckoning.com.au/ has a slightly different perspective to the USA offering (except for the Bill Bonner essays) Here is a recent one from the pen of Bill - http://www.dailyreckoning.com.au/why-all-governments-will-end-up-in-cyprus-like-messes/2013/03/28/ - "Why All Governments Will End Up in Cyprus-like Messes"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZTlsDepd08 Peter Schiff KNOWS, Are you listening and believing :?: If not, "it" will bite you soon and very painfully...

Do please google Peter Schiff and watch/listen to his 6 most recent YouTube presentations - I am freaking disgusted at the fraud, deception and BS that they expose and the stupidity by acceptance of the people of USA in accepting the lies that the government pours on the good people of USA... (in particular the interview https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEDmj3qocag by Doug Casey with Peter Schiff) - - - WTF - - I am flabbergasted. . . - - - Please explain how this can happen in the "Free-est & wealthy-ist" society on earth (NOT ANY MORE), sadly...

Logically following on is this - Get far away from USA...its collapse will be messy: Jeff Berwick https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zD7xR0DGuE

Australia being a muppet of puppet states and sort of subject to the whims of everyone else as it sells raw materials (mined stuff, grown stuff with minimal value adding to most anything sells to others, who then "value add" and sell it back at a heavy margin because our volume is "at the low end of critical economic mass"... Australia therefore suffers at a disadvantage, that is not as significant as that experienced by smaller countries that may get discounts to ensure they present their "loyalty card" to ensure continued trade and the big seller has a place to dispose surplus production... Should Australia be broken up into 7 independent 'states' and access the privilege status of a MINOR country?

Now that should set some fingers a tapping :?:

    Hi Timothy,
I have been watching that - Bitcoin - and am very weary, as it requires TRUST in very large amounts, and at present I have limited trust in our local banks - let alone half way around the world  :?:

Anyway that is quite academic as I have my boat but little else but a kind heart... The boat IS for sale and is parked near Cairns Queensland, Australia. Offers up to 7kg of pure gold would see me kissing the feet of such a buyer..

If I need transportable currency I will likely go for silver or gold BULLION of 99.99% purity for large transactions or the stuff like promoted by Peter Schiff see, - http://peterschiffblog.blogspot.com.au/2013/03/valcambi-combibar-new-gold-standard-in.html - about the size of a credit card comprising 50 detachable pieces of around US$50 each at present prices of $2500 for the credit card size (careful not to loose the separated pieces)...

Cyprus continues to show potential collateral damage, and my feeling is that faith in fiat currencies is rapidly waning and fear of bank crashes is increasing http://www.gata.org/node/12404

    SC,
Good of you to call If you read this you will know you are at the right place I suggested at 3:40pm AEST on April 1st.

Silver Raven is doing OK, Saw him briefly on Saturday and he showed me the 3 lower spots (tattoo marks) that identify the target aiming points for his radiation treatments.

21 daily visits to go and then another assessment to see what the specialists have done.
