Do you have a plan to go with the profile? And what's the LOA?

    Davey,
Paint isn't exactly what you might call a design program....
Why don't you download a copy of one of the simple CAD packages like hullform. They're quite easy to learn and you'll be able to work in 3D - what's more, they're free!

Also don't forget the student discounts available for both Rhino and ProSurf 3, both very capeable and affordable programs that will let you take it to the next level. (or if you can't afford those yet, the free programs are still far far ahead of what 'paint' offers :))

Regardless of the software used, you have to admit that it is a very good first shot. You're going the right way, too, start simple and build in more curves later. With a boat like that, draw a full plan, and try to build a model. This will highlight any potential problems, which can then be sorted as you move on. I would agree, though, that investing in a proper design package would be a good idea. There is plenty of info around in the software section.

    Cheers,

    Tim B.
