fairing aluminium

    ive got a second hand boom that ive tigged all the holes up on im just wondering what the best process would be to fair it back up for respraying?

    seein as nobody will assist
    heavily sand the whole boom(not anodised?) prime with altex number one or any recommended two pack, , buy some microballons, mix with wests or any poxy , and fill the holes, , fair off with a short board, , prime the areas you filled, ,and then undercoat, and then sand with finer and finer grits and then top coat

    is altex number one an etch primer? as ive heard that aluminium is quite hard to paint due to the aluminium oxide

    heavy sanding get rid of oxide, paint straight away
