I was always curious as to what kind of interior design you guys used and what kind of style.
I always favored modern minimalism for small spaces but i dont really see to many boats like that (i could be missing them) so what do you guys like and see
and what style do you think would be most practical for a boat.

Going to need to chug a few beers, pinch a barmaid and work on a old muscle car to feel manly after asking this question

Boat interiors are as varied as home interiors. You have to design to your taste (and budget) no different that home design. The actual execution is slightly different than home interior building, but thats a whole other thread

For personal cruising boats, the outside influences the whole, so the factors determined by your preferred cruising region will be reflected in basic style of boat (Power, Sail, motor sailor, - then - draft, mono, Cat, or tri etc - then - size - then - stuff one "needs?" - then decoration? not necessarily in that order or restricted to those criteria... It is artistic and personal taste - all very subjective....

These are interiors I've designed in the past. My own boat will be much simpler, mainly because I'm building it myself. More to follow.

Beautiful design, Tad. Almost as impressive as the workmanship.
I too am rebuilding a 38' Beneteau. I have gutted the interior back to bare 'glass. I am pretty sure that I am going to use wood slats on the Ceiling, probably a light wood like ash running bow to stern, but I can't think of a suitable replacement for the foam backed vinyl that was on the sides at the ports. I tried an 1/8" wood panel but it wouldn't take the bends and I could not find a good fastening method. Do you have an alternate (not carpet) that you have used? or should I just stay with the vinyl?
