Motor Well Questions

    In many motor well drawings, the forward wall of the well (the motorboard) is canted back ten degrees or so. Does this serve a particular purpose with regard to the function of the outboard? Thanks for any insight!

    If by "back" mean top tilted towards the stern, that's just the usual angle that outboard motors utilize to get prop clearance.

    All manufacturers specify the optimal angle for their outboards.

    Aesthetics to match the stern which is typ 12 degrees..
