This is a powerful picture of Nourmahal.
Look at the detail, the cowl vent in copper or bronze, the hosepipe, the anchor davits. A thousand and one detail that is plainly forgotten in sterilized modern boats.

the boat you posted looks quite similar to our King Alfonso XIII's Royal Yacht GIRALDA, originally owned by the british politician Hugo McCalmont, designed and built in 1894 by Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Co. Ltd, of Govan.

It's really easy to make a yacht of this size graceful and good looking. She's tad slow for her length too, running at .8 S/L ratio (12 knots). Magnificent example of her class though.

 

Guillermo, I have picture of the Giralda taken in 1905, in the book: Royal Yacht of the World, and the profile plan and specs with a wounderful picture in the book: The Steam Yacht.

Absolutely.
I think Hoyt mentioned that turbans do not do well with steam,
but steam turbines yes they perform pretty well.
I think, and that Richard has to confirm, the turbine can't be reversed, so an other set of turbine is necessary for reverse.
