Hi Everyone,
I am a newbie to boatbuilding and was hoping for some input on the hull category of my design. The boat features two airtight pontoons (in purple and red), a rounded hull and a scow bow. I was looking into how to design the construction/scantling and realized that I didn't know what the categorization was? When I ran a hydrostatic stability test through orca 3d (with a max. weight of 1200 lbs), only the pontoons become wetted surfaces. Any advice or direction on what hull category (mono or multi hull) would be great.
For some context on the design, it's going to be built with 1/8" thick 5083 aluminum. I will be doing a complete weld at the pontoon to rounded hull connection point.
