We are selling a 37' James Baird designed Cougar Catamaran Racing mold set. We originally purchased the set for use in an ultra-fast catamaran-sportfisher concept we developed, but have yet to make any changes to the molds. If interested in this type of layout, we have all design work completed. These are not splash molds and have nothing to do with the Midnight boats. Approx. 4 hulls have been pulled from this mold set, and video footage available of one is shown doing well over 110mph. The set is currently located in a manufacturing facility in Michigan.

The items for sale include all molds to create the hull and deck for a 37' catamaran race boat. The production boat was designed by James Baird and produced by Active Marine. One of the hulls was used as the official Quicksilver/Mercury race and promotional boat. Internal components and bulkheads are fabricated on site dependent on the particular engine, seating, and usage configuration. It would be quite simple to make a modified sport deck mold with more conventional seating areas and amenities for recreational user sales. These molds are PRODUCTION READY! The race version is made of foam filled components and Kevlar materials, but it has been made with general fiberglass manufacturing equipment and techniques when speeds in excess of 135mph are not the prime concern. You can produce these boats for the growing catamaran and high speed cruising markets. We had a terrific concept that unfortunately we will be unable to see through to completion. It involved using this hull with a sport deck and surface-piercing diesel drives. Target speeds would be well in excess of 75-80 mph - plus the superior hull design would offer a much smoother ride than any other design in the sportfisher category. Fuel Efficiency would also be at extremely user friendly levels. We would possibly be interested in assisting in design development, as we have an astute crew well versed in Solidworks, Alias Wavefront Studio Tools, etc. -- but our involvement hinges on the sale of the molds - as we already have too many "irons in the fire".
