Modern Racing Dinghy plans and kits

A friend likes the Beneteau 14, but not the cost. He's interested in finding plans or kit for a similar boat. I'm familiar with the Skate 15, available from Duckworks, a modern design, but not a racing dinghy. I didn't find any plans/kits on Duckworks for what my friend wants. Are there any appropriate plans and/or kits available? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks, Scot

Forgot to mention: he wants a small, SOLO boat, light weight and relatively, simple that will plane well.

The Farr 3.7 would seem a logical choice. Pedigree boat from one of the great designers, and CAD file available so you can get a plywood "kit" cut anywhere that can CAM cut plywood.
