Hull with recess in Michlet ???

    I have a problem with Michlet hull offsets' input.

    The hull I was studing has a recess due to the propeller tunnel, I tried to insert the hull geometry using spline format but, because of the tunnel, some WL have more than one intersection with the aft stations.

    is it possible to represent this recess in michlet using spline formats or other format?
    If yes, how can I do?

    I'm not sure what you are trying to do. It might be impossible for Michlet to do what you require.
    Do you have any drawings of the hull you can show us?

    Some sketch of the hull!

    you can note that a waterline can have 3 point of intersection with the same station.

    is there a way to represent this in michlet?

    No. Michlet does not allow re-entrant shapes.

    Just out of curiosity, Leo - physically (or mathematically) speaking, what is the reason for this limitation? Cannot it be considered (and somehow modeled accordingly) as a special case of multi-hull geometry which, as I understand, can be treated by the Michlet?

    The main limitation is that the hull is represented by a distribution of sources
    (and sinks) on a vertical centreplane. I can't see how that could be extended
    to handle re-entrant sections with multiple centreplane distributions.
    A similar problem is that of trying to model a pronged bulbous bow.
    A good way to model that case, or the re-entrant case, is to use a distribution
    of sources over the actual surface of the hull.
