The weather inshore is very different than offshore, even at little distance from shore. sad they didn't radio the captain to know the condition at the yacht position, perhaps the captain will have recommended to stay put.
I don't know, it's easy to speculate from my part, but I know how it can looks so easy to take the tender, go to shore to have fun, and so easy to turn back, all surviving senses and prudence shut down by the good time.
And then to get taken by the current, sea state or wind when returning to the boat and get pushed to high sea.
I feel very sad for this family, what senseless tragedie. I am praying for them
