Minimal drag float/ama for a marathon racer

An update.
I finally set down and got Mitchlet/Godzilla to run with a small outrigger tri configuration. There's still some work to dial it in; the outriggers are behind the main hull and too far apart but here are the numbers.

Drag at design speed 3.25 meters/second in Kn.

Original main hull 0.037
Tri configuration 0.042
Wider .7m beam monohull 0.050

If you ran the toon numbers, what were they in comparison @3.25, as you indicated previously toon did well?
All of these designs numbers would be KISS designs, with very small tweek differences? The power of the riders might be way more significant? I thought you might be looking for some out of the box ideas where say, the lower strength of the riders would be overcome by something more complex. Being able to clear a tangled prop very quickly might be quite significant, as that might mean zero speed during the time- if someone has to jump in and do it?

The toon was a tandem and advantage over a stabilized mono was slight. The tweeks matter, paddle a boat with a little water in it and you can feel the difference as it's pumped overboard.

I'm always open to out of the box ideas but they are primarily for my own projects; how many people can say they've designed and built six or more different proas? ;-) For clients I'm obligated to give them the best solution I'm capable of but I submit that the Kraken does not fit in any normal box.

None of my designs have ever won a race but they've helped a lot of competitors win races and set records. People talk about "fast" canoes but the reality is the best boats are the ones that have the least amount of drag at design speed(s), are stable enough to prevent swimming and handle well.

Props and other stuff down in the water are one of Murphy's favorite things but apparently the later hobie drives do fairly well, which I don't understand. I've got an elegant out of the box idea for a horizontal fin drive but it would never survive the MR340 much less the TWS. A relatively high volume jet drive might but my implementation was poorly done. The horizontal fin might do really well for a run at the distance over 24 hours record but we'll have to see if such happens, a lot of variables involved.
