removable hatch

    hello,
    i'm looking for a closing mechanism for a removable hatch on the deck (no hinged lid). the size of the hatch about 20x30 cm. it is not round, so a screw-cap is no solution.
    has anybody here ever seen a practical solution to this kind of problem?

    Yes, hatch locks. Look in any marine hardware catalog.
