    Only you can, and should, answer that. Does it? And what do you mean by "basic"? The SoR should be as detailed as possible in order to meet your needs, no?


    Have you ordered the plans? If so, what do they call for? If it meets your SoR, and is a proven design, then it would be prudent to simply build to the design.


    I am a little late to the party but would you question a proven airplane design? Would you recalculate and modify the build plan? Would you then expect it to perform "better" than the proven design?


    The beauty of buying and building to a proven design is it takes all the questions you ask and guesswork out of the equation.


    If it's delays, frustration, added costs, and ultimately disappointment you seek, then design your own boat. You'll find the learning curve to be ridiculously steep and unforgiving.
