I have a 1999 mercruiser Alpha 305 and I bought a 2009 mercruiser 350 MAG Bravo... a guy told me that I need another computer for this to work with stern Alpha. Is it the truth?

The Alpha needs a shift interrupter.

Mercruiser sterndrives are mechanical and have no connection to the onboard computer. The shift interrupt is necessary, but will be part of any electronic ignition system.
