Standard Horizon CPV 350/550 is a multifunction VHF/GPS/PA system. In the manual it says that the unit is capable of integrating Radar function, as well as Fishfinder. It seems that Standard Horizon is cost effective, that is everything is integrated into one, less cables, less space and cost less to install compared to Raymarine C120 etc, which was initially decided.Problem is that the Radar (Radome Type) need to be purchased separately, not Standard Horizon acessories. Anyone installed one of those ?

Question now is anyone here can guide or point me to where i can find more about the radar wiring? Is it NMEA standard? Wrote to Standard Horizon on this and waiting for their reply.

NMEA is the compatable language used from different equipment, computer to GPS auto pilot etc. It is the Language. Its not a standard of wiring ,--if I understand your question correctly?

It must say somewhere in the manual where to take NMEA from the radar to feed auto pilots etc. They are only small wires --White and green if I remember correctly to feed the USB on a lap top for instance.

Preferably a lap top with a serial port than a USB although it can be got around with USB convertor cables.

This would be for your NMEA to feed Cmap for instance.

I would have thought there would be an outlet for NMEA at the back of the display.

    Where in Malaysia are you?

thanks Frosty for the reply. yes, there is a mention of NMEA connection on the manual. Referring to the attached pics, it show on the back there is 2 connection option AUX and I/O both for NMEA devices.
Normally, Radar cable come pre-clamped with connector, for connection to display plotter of the same manufacturer. Since Radar will be connected to different make of display plotter, i need to know which and what wire to make the connection (Radar preclamp cable connector might be different from display connector).

Company is in Port Klang, Malaysia.

Oh I see. Yes they do normally come with the plugs on and it is neccesary to remove if you need to feed through somewhere without making huge holes.

Of course doing it this way means you can mark the wires before removal.

In that case I have no idea how it connects.

I have never heard of any one doing this.
