If you call sending someone to prison for running one of the biggest Ponzi schemes in history 'stifling' them, then yeah. The government stifled Martin Armstrong....:D

Why would you turn to a convicted con man for investment advice?

Who is taking his "investment advice"? The matter of looking at diverse sources for general data is still useful, you have brains? and using those to sort out which is useful and which is not, is the readership choice... Investment advice comes from careful analysis of the target, INCLUDING credibly audited annual reports, General information on the market, What that business does, Is it profitable and growing its activities in this depressed economic time, Has it got good management and so on... Because some fool says 'Buy this', or, 'buy that' is also obeyed by a fool...

As I have said all along, and requested others to supply input as well, is to gain an understanding of the broader global position, where the opinions and views of others are relevant, whether I read CAREFULLY what others may link to or post depends on the tone and feel I get from a quick 'fast-read' and even that which I feel is "crap" has merit as I can understand where others see significance... All for a greater understanding of the GEC and how to schedule where, when and what to prioritise on my cruise...

Things seem to be happening at a significantly slower rate than I anticipated... "Kicking the can down the road", seems to be the go-slow disease afflicting much of USA and Europe, And recognising that they are the global market powerhouses, Others must also slow down in market opportunity expectations...

Let me put it another way, since you don't seem to like the word 'advice.' Why would you look to a convicted con man for financial or economic analysis, information or anything else? I'd say he's pretty well proven he can't be trusted....

By the way, Armstrong's pi-cycle theory claims that financial upheavals from the days of ancient Rome and Greece up to modern times happen in cycles of 3,141 days, which happens to be pi times a thousand.

Seems a little shaky to me.... why would financial cycles correspond to a multiplier of the decimal notation of the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter?

Well the source GATA is usually impeccable, as is King World News, and even a "criminal" may have something useful to contribute - in a constructive way - It appears that you are missing the message in the cause of kicking the can and kicking any who have a different view, to that or your own? One useful idea paraphrased::: "... every domestic decision USA makes relating to finances is EXPORTED - that is because USA has the privileged position of having the RESERVE CURRENCY ..." So everyone outside USA KNOWS that collateral damage is attributable to the USA... Pure and simple logical analysis...

May I suggest you consider offering something constructive for your future contributions? . . . No where does the story or other condemn the man as being a "criminal" apart from acknowledgement he is still in prison.... and WHO in the NY big end of the financial markets IS NOT running a PONZI or some such fraudulent racket.... - That, said by you, slandered person is still apparently sought globally for his advice... Duh? - - or, - did what he say in the audio, upset your view of the world?

My feel is that as per this brief quote, "some are exposed to be severely burnt"
The DOWNGRADE of the United States of America sent shock waves through the multi-Trillion dollar derivative market. The carnage will be visible in the next few weeks. Here's the largest derivative holders at the end of the second quarter according to the OCC:
    - - JP Morgan $78.1 Trillion
    - - Citibank $56.1 Trillion
    - - Bank of America $53.2 Trillion
    - - Goldman Sachs $47.7 Trillion

The time has come, the walrus said, to think of other things... Can kicking is not my style, as the other thread seems to have degenerated into, and this is being given "the treatment" (after this style) and I ask, are you in this league or just a volunteer?
The enemies of truth, freedom, and justice are highly mobilized, well funded, and efficiently organized.

The institutional structures of power, whether local, national or global, are effective mechanisms through which the ruling groups of society establish and entrench their influence, build consensus among each other, brainwash and expand their control over the masses and society as a whole. Whether they take the form of think tanks, universities, governments, corporations, militaries, intelligence agencies, NGOs, media conglomerates, international organizations, philanthropic foundations, they are institutions of control and conquest.

Whether that conquest is ideological or physical, the effect is the same: the conquered are oppressed and repressed.

Best wishes all, the conquered, the oppressed and repressed will soon be known to you....

I believe that pointing out bs is constructive, because it helps people avoid wasting their limited time. As opposed to your approach, which seems to be blindly throwing everything at the thread which might possibly support your preconceived notions, without bothering to vet it.

I don't think people should post sources they haven't personally investigated and verified. After all, if forum members want a grab-bag of unverified info, we can just hit google ourselves....

Your information on Martin Armstrong is outdated. He's out of prison, has rented an office, and is apparently laying out sucker bait again -- in spite of being the subject of an order by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission barring him from the securities industry.

And by the way: slander is verbal defamation of someone, spoken to someone besides the person being slandered. Written or otherwise published defamation is known as libel.

In the US, the truth is an absolute defense against either charge -- no matter how embarrassing or harmful it is to the person you're talking about. You can't always depend on that being true in Great Britain, or in other countries of the Commonwealth...

I watch or at least listen to Bloomberg and CNN most of the day. All they are pumping out is that they dont know WTF is going on. By the hour fund managers from Auss to Uk are coming on with thier little analyis and it is contradictive to say the least.

All the links are the same and why should anyone know anything -- We only live one generation , records have only been kept for the last 100 years and nothing like this has happened before.

You can put your base lines on your graphs till the cows come home and nothing makes sence.

Actually thats wrong, the only thing that makes sense is that nothing is making sense, we can see this from the safe haven of gold dropping like a stone last week Why ? no one knows,--Oh one guy says it peope sellingh off to pay bad losses on the market.

If that not a flusterd guess with a camera in your face I dont know what is.

We are putting these high paid people on a pedisatal and frightening them becaue they dont know, and how could they. They are fumbling around trying to say something with out commiting them selves.

I dont understand your interest in it, or can I use the word paranoia or obsessed.

A source that I will regard as "Anonymous" because it is NOT VERIFIABLE and IS NOT that "hacker group" - - - Posed as a question... and purporting to come from Bix Weir, as it has a link to his site... How Do You Spell "Weapon Of Mass Destruction"? - - D-E-X-I-A! - - One of the largest derivative players in Europe is imploding as we speak. This will destroy ALL derivative markets across every continent. If Roseanne Barr had the last TV show on the earth, I would not turn it on but I would look at my radio. You gotta be kidding, over the years she has shown herself many times over how DUMB she is. Mas, get a life and stop all the TV and computer watching.

I too thought she was less than a second rate comedian, but she was interviewed on RADIO and demonstrated a considered side that presented as quite reasonable and suggested an independent mind that had done the research/reading of many scholarly tomes containing a broad spectrum of ideas... That her political ideals do not align with my thinking is irrelevant, nevertheless her views suit her needs and appear well reasoned... Which surprised me....

I seldom watch TV, as I have a very low tolerance for advertising interrupting my listening pleasure, consequently am quite selective in the radio stations to which I listen...

Oh bugger, why did I post? - - - bye bye....
