Is that weight going to make some lift like a foil... or is it going to carry the hull straight, right through the swells ?

Oh well folks something to show for a change.
    Actual progress.

The roller reefing on top of the boom seems to be working well, and I have allowed enough room for adjustments and / or small alterations.
The boom could be a bit overdesigned but this will also be the platform for the tests and experiments that I want to do with different configurations for the TEN.

So please just keep in mind that almost everything that I do now is actually with the TEN as the next goal and project. This is the learning platform and of course "weekend cottage"

I can actually see the end is in sight now.
The little things - the little things - aaaaargh.

It looks good, Manie, but personally I think you're nuts looking at a smaller boat from an already too smaal boat :D

If you plan to sail the Apies or Hennops rivers, then by all means, go slightly smaller, but if you plan on going on anything bigger, you need bigger as well. I think you're just getting too comfy playing with small things at home, you should get out more :D

    Fanie,
I only half agree with you.
I think Manie's current boat is just the right size.
As for playing with smaller things, thank heavens I wouldn't know.
Manie, that sail is looking good, cannot wait to see it on the boat and doing something.

Tell us more about your boom-furler.

By the way, I got the CNC router going again over the last week.
What to do next, is now the big question.

As an aside, highly disappointed with the Sail outboard, which forced me into an embarrassing situation getting towed back to harbour last saturday.

Moral of the story: I am saving up and buying a NEW outboard.....

Don't be too composure... jy weet die groot voel siekte is 'n bedreiging vir baie !

Some people get punished immediately :D
I got a 5hp Parsun two stroke to limp anywhere... this motor is powerfull for it's size and I like it a lot. Sadly they don't make the same any more, why the hell they chop and change models and sizes all the time... :(

I don't suppose I should speak too much about size.
My boat is 11 feet long, so only a foot too much according to Manie ;-)
