    I've posted a wrong example about this in post #853 . . .

The boat I'd seen on the Great Glen (± 2003) was An Sulaire, a 10m (33') Sgoth Niseach, a single stick open fishing boat with a huge dipping lug and the yard longer than the mast . . .

Note the three different halyard attachment positions on the yard to change the Centre of Effort. With a boom one should also change the downhaul position on the boom for this feature I guess...

    Cheers,
    Angel

P.S. - The 7 crew is for one at the helm and the rest for handling the sail and for auxiliary power employing six large oars and also for handling the nets . . .

I know you didn't intend this juxtaposition. It's just too funny to ignore Manie. :D

    Yobarnacle ;)

In afrikaans we have a saying

When you are young it is: Wiele en Piele - When you are old its - Brille en Pille

Loosely translated its "Wheels and penisses" going to "Spectacles and tablets/medication"

I suppose you really get to understand life at 60 when your daily routine is a blood pressure tablet and a cholesterol tablet.

That is where the "teeny weeny" bit comes into your life
But Mas is good if he can rock the boat for 3 hours - farkit :p

Angel also on my bucket list is a dipping lug - too beautiful
MoeJoe that video is great - beautiful area - I agree people should go and sail there.
Mas I take it you still look at the bikinis on Wicked Weasel :D one day we must invite them over for a photoshoot on your boat - kick start teeny weeny :D

For anyone from anywhere in the world with a sharpie (don't know how strictly the boat preference is) here's a guy just across, on the Finnish side of the Baltic near the Turku archipelago, who is interested in boat swapping for holidays to explore areas that are unattainable with the own boat.

From Lars; Building the "Mystic" . . .
    Bon voyage !

    I'm 65 and healthy.
My wife frequently tells me, "Largate Viejo discrepito! No me molestos!"
(Go away descrepit old man! don't bother me!)

    Alas, I do have "Sometimers".
Soimetimes I remember stuff, and sometimes I can't.
What's the justice in a healthy body, if you lose your mind?

    I'm NOT being funny!

I'm well up for a boatswap if anyone can imagine low-end boat comfort and don't mind navigating areas like this (I'll pass through there on Thursday)

But it's true, we don't have to worry about tides.. :p

Ralph Waldorf Emerson once said: "Youth is wasted on the young"

Woody Allen once said: "you are only young once, but you can be immature your whole life"

    words to live by.

In other words, "I may have to grow older, but they can't make me grow up."

I have a sticker in the rear window of my pickup that says, "Cleverly disguised as a Responsible Adult." :D

    Ralph Waldo's city cousin..... :D

What is it with Emerson and Thoreau, that everyone always rolls out all three names when referring to them? "Ralph Waldo Emerson," "Henry David Thoreau."
