I do realize how lucky I am in many ways, especially my gf loves to go out on the boat.
She was raised in a fishing family, and despite having offers from the top modelling agencies in the world, quit after one month because she hated being recognized, and it was too shallow and demeaning to her.

It can be pouring rain-it doesn't matter to her-"let's go".
Or at the end of the holiday time.. "can't we stay one more night out?"
Hints that she wants to go fishing by "we need salmon /prawns/halibut pretty soon".

Washing, waxing, cleaning the engine room, cleaning fish, cleaning thousands of prawns-whatever-she's right there with me.
Pulling into shallow areas, she's the leading eye on the PWC and can skipper as well as I can.

Never letting this one get away.

If it makes you feel better by cutting down those who have what you don't/won't-good for you.

But you're not doing yourself any favours in life by doing so,and by your post the proof is quite evident.

    Have a good one BTW

Which one? His statement that his wife can skipper as well as he can? Do you have trouble believing there are capable women? My wife was a long-haul trucker for a while, and she could put most men to shame with her driving skills. She was particularly good at backing a semi into awkwardly placed or cluttered loading docks.

If instead you were talking about his comment that he isn't going to let this one get away, what do you know that he doesn't?

I think it is SA humor that we are not cue'd in on.:confused: It was probably a gut buster and we just don't even know it.

    West,

Sounds like you're talking about my wife. Good thing you're up northwest or I might start drawing conclusions. :p Cheers to women with water in their veins.

Might be. Wouldn't be the first time I've taken someone too seriously on here... I get dreadfully earnest sometimes.;)

Wow, Sometimes I forget how easy it is to offend someone on this forum.
To confirm at least one suspicion, yes it was all meant in the best of spirits as a jibe. My sincerest apologies. I am in awe of both your hair-trigger emotions and ability to analyse me so completely based on one sentence which I wrote.

I was actually hoping for a response more like:" So you want proof, punk. Here's some photographic proof of her gutting an eighty pound tuna freshly caught...."

But instead I am merely reminded once again of how careful I have to be in saying something in jest. For that sir, I thank you, and once again my most sincerest of apologies.

Would have preferred a flippin picture though....

You can call me a liar-I don't care as I know the truth.
But bring my wife into the mix in any way and you'd better be prepared for instant backlash. As it would be with others.

Apology accepted, but don't believe it was in jest-you did post twice to make it abundantly clear of what you were saying.

Pictures of her-no. My boat is more than enough for anyone to see.

But this is Manie's boat thread....

So, centerboard, ballast, mast/rig & Sails, when do we get to see the boat sailing?

Well folks all the best for 2013.

I started 2013 on a very high note with my first big trip.
It was an absolute pleasure, 214nm over 6 days.
I motored from the Vaaldam up the Wilge river close to Frankfort; and then back down and up the Vaal river to Villiers.

I wrote a pretty in depth story of the trip on my blog, Trip 6.
especially for those of you that are interested in micro cruising.

    http://compaxboats.wordpress.com/

The trip was a huge success and I am planning to do the next big ones soon.
Gariep Dam, Vanderkloof Dam and Bloemhof Dam.

If you would like to comment on my story, please do it here on BD.net, this is my home where I respond.
