making a boat longer

    What kind of a boat?
    Power boat? Displacement or planning?
    Sailboat?

    The shape you start with would change lots of things for me.

    Then extend it from the transom (IMHO).
    Anywhere else is going to cause the shape to be not fair and smooth and will turn it into ****.
