Low-E insulation on steel boat

As an energy engineer, I'm highly skeptical to claims made on their web site. Take with grains of salt.
Foam or fiber plus aluminium foil works but the claimed numbers.... The emissivity stated is of highly polished clean surfaces, will degrade fast in real life. Radiation / emissivity heat transfer is dominant at high temperatures only (like engine room walls), not at room temperature, which is one reason aluminium is combined with foam / fiber; to gives a wider temperature range and also some fire protection.

That's the best part about this insulation- it's cheap! Not sure if it's too good to be true. $120 US for a roll 48 inches by 50 feet on Amazon.

I'm still curious though (mostly because I'm on a budget!) Would this insulation work if I included an air gap? I'd planned on putting it directly on the steel hull and then the ceiling would be 1-inch boards about 3 inches away from the hull. (attached to the stringers) I realize it's not ideal but would it be enough to stop condensation?
