Any suggestions on readying an old deck mould....

I am going to use an old laid up deck mould to build a deck over xmas.
The tooling gelcoat is in good shiney condition, but a little dirty in places.
Has been stored outside with the female side down.
What would be the best procedure to prepare it for gelcoating?
Best polish, mould release wax, etc.
Any special procedures for old disused moulds?

There are a lot of different systems out there. Pick one that suits your budget. That is to say, you need to clean it (soap and water) then strip the mold of its previous mold release agents and re-wax it. We used a semi-permenant release on our molds - but I think a good carnuba based wax is as good as anything.
