I would like to alter my mast by adding a section to the bottom of it. I would like a piece that is around 2 to 3 feet, plus a couple more feet for the splice section. I've been told at least twice the long dimension of mast which is about 6.7", so a splice of maybe 3' (or 30") would work. Shipping would need to be to either a freight forwarder on the west coast of US or to Alaska, where I am.
My alternative is to construct a section of composite mast.. but I would need to bug a designer to give me the layup schedule.

which is off several models of older 30-ish foot boats listed in that link. I do plan to have 2 pairs of spreaders.
