You have just insulted every freedom-lovin', god-fearin' Australian for whom the emu is a national symbol!

Oh come on, you Australian guys (and emus) are a case apart. You folks in the southern hemisphere live your lives head over heels, so common rules are obviously not valid for you. I'm still struggling to understand how do you manage to pee without splashing your heads? ;) :p

It's too difficult to explain here.
Just think about it the next time you uncoil a firehouse on your boat.

    daiquiri,

It is a skill little boys are handed down from their daddys,, you make use of the Coriolis effect, pee downwind and just a quick flick and off she goes, straight down and ant nest hole.....not quite so much fun as messing about in boats, but not far off....

    Hello?
    Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me.
    Is there anyone at home?
    Come on, now,
    I hear you're feeling down.
Well I can ease your pain
And get you on your feet again.
    Relax.
    I need some information first.
    Just the basic facts
Can you show me where it hurts?

    Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb

As I observe the zombie like reactions of Americans to our catastrophic economic highway to collapse, the continued plundering and pillaging of the national treasury by criminal Wall Street bankers, non-enforcement of existing laws against those who committed the largest crime in history, and reaction to young people across the country getting beaten, bludgeoned, shot with tear gas and pepper sprayed by police, I can't help but wonder whether there is anyone home. Why are most Americans so passively accepting of these calamitous conditions? How did we become so comfortably numb? I've concluded Americans have chosen willful ignorance over thoughtful critical thinking due to their own intellectual laziness and overpowering mind manipulation by the elite through their propaganda emitting media machines. Some people are awaking from their trance, but the vast majority is still slumbering or fuming at erroneous perpetrators.

Bambi, not only Americans ! It seems the same sickness is everywhere.

I think it comes from guilt aroused from accusations like racism, autrocities against others that was never comitted etc. The firm belief in what is right and what is wrong gets diluted to a grey from a black or white.

What has people to look forward to when there is little hope to progress in life ?
No scope for planning the new boat. You settle in mentally for the long haul expecting nothing to get better in life.

Perhaps too many people on earth numbing the keenness to develop and enhance more and more.

Fanie you just wouldn't believe :?: the amount of people that are hiding behind both legal and illegal drugs, booze, or whatever attempting to escape the reality of the environment we're living in. It's simply amazing the amount of script doctors are now writing for the stuff. I've witnessed people actually sharing their script with others when they see people down with the blues.

Heck we were at another couples house recently and the wife was telling them how depressed her work environment makes her at times. They then reached into a cupboard and got a bottle of script out and shook her out a few dozen pills. I don't know whether the wife's ever used any yet :?:, but I'm aware the place is "making her crazy" so maybe she could actually use "something".

I think with the dead end situation of many jobs and disposable employees now-a-days people are feeling trapped and loosing their actual drive and life-force and withering into a state of sustained depression. With little else but dead end jobs and little hope of any sustained future it's awfully hard to maintain a driving brilliant life-force and outlook on life itself.
