ya there was just an article about that in the BBC this morning. I guess Italy just paid some whopping huge interest at its latest debt auction. Unsustainable was the term used to describe the numbers

I cede the point or rather- we have long been in agreement:

We differ on the fine (and perhaps irrelevant point) of laws being passed to either support special interest or neglected in the case of not being passed when they should be.

My primary point of contention is one of degree.

I would never state or feel that I am in a society where my actions are being "controlled" by the government.
As I stated I do not ever chafe under "corrupt laws passed by corrupt politicians."
I do feel however that I live in a free society where I have remarkable opportunities and freedom of action largely due to the people and the government which has been established here.

Is there a struggle and debate over the basis for direction, be it corporate interest vs public- without question.
    And what else is new?

I some months back listened to a debate over lowering the minimum wage- a "required step" to lead us out of this downturn.
So a law which protects our rights is causing business interests to chafe much as you suggest you are under laws fostered by business.
Environmental laws are facing the same pressure if the can be argued to be too burdensome to corporate interests

    Both sides fight for dominance.
I just don't feel that the case is such the we are nearing "armed revolt" due to the severity of the problem.
I also strongly feel that it is a misstatement to suggest that corporate influence created the conditions which led to this economic downturn.

    So back to our discussion-
Is this what the Occupy movement is so up in arms about?
    And why now?

    People chafe under hard times

Yes. Camped twice since rebuild. Sebastian Inlet north of Vero Beach October 1 and at Markham Park in Broward County on October 29.

It rained all night on the 29th but we stayed nice and dry.

Blocking and surrounding police thereby forcing them to take corrective measures is not peaceful.

Mussolini was a brutal fascist who murdered some 600000 "individuals" as he enforced state rule.

Yes- I would say he was 'indifferent' indeed.

He raised such ire that on his death the peasant women tore his body apart in retribution for those he had killed.

A State doesn't need to kill thousands of people in order to be defined fascist.
