Will it actually go ? maybe if you have very coarse nobby tyres on it for some traction.

What am I missing here? How useful is a pedal-powered road canoe that weighs four or five times more than a bicycle, that needs the parking space of a city bus, that is surely much slower than a proper (water) canoe where the occupant sits in the middle to equalize the weight distribution (and hence depth of hull in the water)?
Good storage capacity for a bike, I'll admit. Let them laugh when you show up at the grocery store in a canoe, until you drive away with four hundred pounds of food.

You can take dogs out for a walk, but for shear wow factor, pedal your canoe off the back of the trailer into the water, and see who comes over to chat you up.

Seriously though, I wonder if you could get two sets of peddlers pushing those paddlewheels. I imagine you couldnt both peddle into the water - it looks like it would be bow heavy with a second person.

having a bigger boat that could be driven up on the beach would be fantastic

A small dinghy or hydroplane may have made a more practical land vehicle, but to each his own - it's a great idea. No waiting for the boat ramp - just offload in the parking lot and pedal to the water.

Some company years ago built an amphibious vehicle. I read about it once on the internet. It was kinda cute.

 

Well, I think the marketing people were spot on choosing Suzie for the pedal-pushing person, judging by responses.
