    Hi Ray, I usually put under the mast bulkhead or use the pillers because other methods usually take up more space inside the boat and less reliable.

    Great to see.

    It is very informative on what is involved in building a boat of this size.

    Did you epoxy the hull panels before mounting them ?

    All the shell plates of the hull will be covered with epoxy after installation, when the hull is fully assembled and glued.

    Lion 870 comfortable yacht composite structures is a continuation of a series of yachts developed by the company Unik Yachts. Lion 870 has a permanent ballast keel which increases stability and security, and also simplifies the construction.The main idea of a series of yacht Lion is maximum adaptability of designs and ability to self-built yacht from a kit of pre-cut on CNC parts.

    In the first days of May, they finished all the preparatory work and started mounting the outer skin of the Lion 800 yacht.

    17 months so far. Think it will be launched before Xmas ?

    Hi Ray since the start of construction a little more than 11 months, laying the pile was held on 3 June 2016, work is being done on weekends only. During this time, great progress is noticeable. )))

    Looking good. How much fibreglass is recommended on the outer hull ?

    I think it will be enough to put 2-3 layers of fiberglass, then the irregularities of the hull will be aligned with putty and painted.
