Floodlights covering lifeboat and rescue boat preparation and launching areas shall be powered by the main UPS’s and shall be equipped with local switches.
Question: why is it required to be powered from UPS? why not from fixtures with integral battery backup?

Hello Charz, welcome to the Forum.

What is the difference to you between a UPS ( Uninterrupted Power Supply ) and an integral battery backup?
This may be a translation issue, I don't know.
Is there someone local you can ask?
Your insurance company or a local inspector?
