I had never seen it before.
Certainly is a small sail area for such a "large" looking cat.

Looks like an Aclass mainsail. But it also looks very slow and cumbersome. How do you get on board?

I have no idea Richard, but the shape of the hulls is about as different as it gets.

Yep, useless decoration it is, but it does look cool. A long time ago I came to realize that I like pretty, and if it ain't pretty, I don't want it. That applies to all my toys, old cars, guitars, and big modersickles.

Saltdragon, are you talking about the duck, or the catamaran? I agree that the catamaran would not be everyone's favorite, but it is cool looking and different which sets it apart from the average two hulls and a sail. If a person builds an ugly boat he might own it until it goes to the scrap yard. :)

The swan is fun (but I would not want one!) but I find the catamaran just plain ugly and why would anyone want a boat with wrinkles, but as I said beauty is in the eye of the beholder :)

so would you drive a "pretty" car or one that was fast and controllable going round corners and had good fuel consumption and that would comfortably/safely sit your whole family?

would you marry a "pretty" spouse or one that could cook, had lots of money and made you laugh?

Everything is a compromise, which would you really chose?

Well Richard, I would take the pretty wife and keep the cook I have. If you think you can't have speed, and beauty, you are not looking at the right car dealers. However, when you need a truck for just a short time, I guess an ugly one will do the job. I like the useless decoration on the little catamaran. I also like the yellow and purple paint job on a certain 28' catamaran. I wonder if it has a function, or just looked nice?

I think you misunderstood. I know boats/cars/women can be both pretty and fast. I thought the boat in the video was slow, dare I say "pretty slow", no maybe not, because I also don't like its looks.

Thank you for the comment on the yellow/purple catamaran. I guess you mean this one, from nearly 25 years ago.
