Just wondering if anyone knows which edition of the old Nautical Quarterly magazine had the feature on the then new Ron Holland/Kiwi boats Kialoa IOR Maxi, it would have been in 1981 I believe.

Yes, Richard is correct, that's the aluminum S&S one. Kilroy had a system of not assigning a number designation until the boat was no longer the current version. ie, the newer boat became just Kialoa while the old boat gained a number. At least that's how I understood it. The Ron Holland design would have become #1v when replaced. Nobody remember the Nautical Quarterly article? I would like to find a copy but don't know which issue I am looking for.

It's issue #14, summer 1981. Article is called Kilroy's Been There.

Hey Steve, Just wondering if you ever found the Nautical Quarterly copy with the Kialoa IV built by Kiwi Boats? I worked for Kiwi Boats back in the day and was involved with Kialoa's construction.

Hi Robert, Yes, Tad was correct and i was able to find a copy on Amazon. I also worked on the project but as a sub, we did the interior fit out in F- board honeycomb and i got to build the 7 ft wood /carbon steering wheel.
