I have a few questions as I am starting to go into production with a flats boat mold.

-How do I get my boat name and model on the title or MSO?

-Do I get my hull ID from coast guard?

-Basically how to legally put my boat company name and model on the Certificate of origin to give to buyer so that they can title and register it in their name?

Go to the Coast Guard web site Boating Builders Toolbox https://uscgboating.org/boat_builder/ Most of what you need to know is there.

First, you need a Manufacturers Identification Code (MIC) from the Coast Guard. Boatbuilder's Handbook https://uscgboating.org/regulations/boatbuilders-handbook.php You will see an email address to apply for the MIC. It's free. You just give them your info, Name of business, your name, address, phone, e-mail, and type of boat.

The MIC is the first three letters of Hull Identification Numbers. (HIN) you assign the HIN in the format specified by the Coast Guard. see Boat Building Regulations | Hull Identification Numbers | HIN | MIC https://newboatbuilders.com/pages/hin.html
Many states require a Manufacturers Statement of Origin (MSO) or Manufacturers Certificate of Origin (MCO). They are the same thing. Most states have a form for this. Every state has an agency that registers boats. Usually it's the Department of Motor Vehicles. Contact the agency in your state and ask if they have a form. You fill out the form for each boat and give that form to the buyer. Some states may require it be notarized but I haven't seen one that does yet.

All the answers to your questions are on my web site at New Boatbuilders Home Page | Everything Boat Building https://newboatbuilders.com. It's free, no ads, easy to use, and there is a mobile version.
