K1 Kayak Mold For Sale.

    Seda Kayaks has a K1 Kayak Mold for sale. The kayak was designed by Andy Toro for Joe Sedivec for the US Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista to a pre-2001 ICF design.

    I understand this design was intended for training, rather than competition, and would not be competitive in competition today due to rule changes which eliminated the minimum width requirements. It was quoted to be "an improved Cleaver X" for those familiar with that boat.

    I am not sure how many were produced, but likely only one or two and as a result the mold is in very good condition. The mold flange is grooved and would likely support vacuum or infusion molding as well as hand laid production.

    Specifications:
    Length = 17' (520 cm)
    Max beam = 20.25"
    Cockpit = 17x38"
    Depth = 12.25"

    We specialize in touring kayaks, and the mold has just been in storage and we need the room. We can arrange shipping if needed. The mold is currently in San Diego, CA and is available for inspection. I can also email photos.
