    IMO, the rails beside the engine (and everything else) should have been aligned with the gunnels.

    There is nothing like the sweet sound of an unfiltered Weber setup where there is one carb throat for every cylinder (or 24 of them) when you get them into the sweet spot (above 7,000 rpm) and they start to sing... That boat must sound glorious when she is turning up and the carbs are in full song....
