Working on it. Not my strong suit. The only novelty is shaped mast rings- and really the only issue I'd worry about yet is height to prevent jamming and still stacking well enough. The external batten is from aerojunk. Laced sail panels are easy to imagine? The reefing system just brings us back to the shaped mast rings ( maybe even pull needs tweaking). This is simplified from a reefable skinned wing with depth created by junkfoil style batten arms. That seems viable,just more complicated - and no one was interested anyway

Unless you want a hobby and learn how to build a boat, used small sailboats can be bought for $500 in fair condition. Spring started, buy one and get on the water.

Yeah. Ideally. I might have to use a cart til I move. The water here in Alaska is very cold, and currently frozen. Though I guess this would work on an ice boat test platform

I think maybe a balsa model before I rebuild a boat? The stuff that needs testing is reefing/the mast rings. Building a section to scale would confirm the mechanisms. The math on a foil isn't really a worry. Also I really don't want a boat in Seward. 1 more summer then I'm moving someplace that isn't a Klingon prison planet for 5 months a year Balsa is probably easier than drawings, too

Cardboard and dowels would suffice I think. Make it as large as is reasonable for your situation to minimize scale effects. I'm currently suffering the results of this in the other direction; a mechanism that worked fine cobbled up with stuff laying around doesn't work near as well scaled down to desktop 3D printed bits.
