Looks like it is becoming a pattern in the world of super-rich. Remember this one: http://www.bbc.com/news/business-20815910 ?

And I know a story or two of non-paying clients which happened to Italian shipyards and have ultimately sent the yard belly-up.

It's the same guy, Philippe Starck, who designed both ships! You'd think that he'd have done a credit check on the customers. That article raises a point though (about Job's boat). What do you do when the owner dies and the heirs don't care? Talk about illiquid assets!

    You know, I'm glad I don't have these problems.........really.

Just for giggles, I checked Boat Trader to see what they had in the 300' and up range. Boat Trader is a mag sold in gas stations where people list their canoes and old pontoon boats. I guess they are moving upmarket, because to my astonishment, they have a 350'er listed! (click on the link)

The article loses credibility by describing "A" as "sleek". Clearly that vessel is not sleek. It is an abomination.

Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder.

Beholders are monsters with floating ball-like bodies, a giant cyclopian eye, giant mount filled with shark-like teeth and more eyes on antenna-like stalks.

The attachment is for something less than $20m, construction cost is reported to be $450m. I am pretty sure they could auction it off for at least the $20m figure.

So the claim from the designer is for less than 5% of the boats value? You'd think that the owner(s) could work that out. Then again I've often been accused of thinking too much.

I suspect he's crappy at interior design also.

I'll bet it looks like the Starship Enterprise, unless he used that idea on a waffle maker. Such designing genius is rare, thankfully.

I was wrong, it looks like a War Of The Worlds thing taking a whiz. With the Beret, it looks French.

I can't wait to see the waffle maker.
